Preparing learners to become active European citizens is more important today than ever before.
We believe that every teacher, regardless of subject, can address the European Union and European values in their lessons. To do this, it is necessary to refresh previously acquired knowledge about the EU from time to time.
We invite you to join a free online course that you can complete flexibly at your own pace.
As part of the Jean Monnet project EUCLASS Alliance, we created a lesson plan that helps xinvolve learners in several discussions connected to the EU and European values within roughly one hour.
The lesson includes:
Kuressaare Ametikool participates in the Erasmus+ cooperation project VET Schools Doing Green, through which teachers from five countries have created a wide range of open-access learning assignments to help integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into vocational education.
On April 1, Kuressaare Ametikool opened new safety training centre and workshop to train electric wind turbine blade technicians and wind turbine technicians.
Kuressaare Ametikool is a partner in the Jean Monnet program project EUClass Alliance, aimed at incorporating more topics related to the European Union and European values into vocational education.
At the kickoff meeting held in the second week of December in Verona, Italy, participants acknowledged that while EU policies affect numerous professional fields, the European Union often receives little attention, and the benefits created collectively—such as free movement of labor or affordable mobile data roaming when traveling abroad—are not widely recognized.
On November 4th, a cooperation project called the EUClass Alliance began with the goal of promoting awareness of the European Union, democracy, and civic engagement within vocational education.
The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet sub-program, which is focused primarily on EU-related topics in education.
From 8th to 10th of October, Kuressaare Ametikool hosted partners from the VET SDGs project. Over three days, we discussed sustainable development and its complexities.
"All SDGs are wicked problems; we will never solve them completely," said the first speaker, Mihkel Kangur, scientist and Head of Teaching and Development at Rakvere State Gymnasium. Wicked problems related to sustainable development goals, such as sustainable transport, employment, living standards, do not have one clear cause or solution.
A new serious online game has been launched as part of the Erasmus+ cooperation project Pathway to Hospitality. The game can be used to introduce hotel and restaurant professions and for language learning.
Many European Union countries are facing a severe labor shortage in hotels and restaurants. The aim of the serious game is to break down stereotypes and present career opportunities in the hospitality sector in an attractive way.
From November 2021 to June 2024, Kuressaare Ametikool collaborated with a network of 14 VET institutions with the aim of enhancing networking skills and creating a network of technical vocational teachers in the transport sector to share best practices in electric vehicle teaching methods and tools. The project, funded by Erasmus+, was titled "European E-Transport Network for Vocational Education and Training" (ETN4VET) and included partners from 11 countries.
