Kuressaare Ametikool participates in the Erasmus+ cooperation project VET Schools Doing Green, through which teachers from five countries have created a wide range of open-access learning assignments to help integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into vocational education.
The extensive collection includes, for example, a learning task titled “Garment CV”, which gives textile and fashion students the opportunity to analyze the materials and environmental footprint of a garment they have chosen. The idea for this assignment was developed by Piret Paomees, a clothing construction teacher at the Kuressaare Ametikool.
The collection also features playful activities such as “EcoDrive: Shifting Gears for a Greener Future”, aimed at automotive students to raise awareness about the correct handling of hazardous car waste, linking it to climate action as well as life below water and on land.
“Board Game to Bridge Generations” encourages students to appreciate the perspectives of different generations on sustainability, gender equality, and eating habits.
The learning tasks are divided into three size categories. Small tasks focus mainly on classroom-based activities, medium tasks involve cooperation with companies, and large tasks are aimed at the wider local community, with projects that can last an entire academic year.
Each assignment describes in detail its objectives, related SDGs, target group, activities in the preparation, implementation, and follow-up stages, as well as the expected learning outcomes.

The project involves vocational schools from Estonia, Finland, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain. The teachers also mapped activities already implemented in vocational schools, which are presented in a collection of good practices and in teachers’ Green Diaries.
